Description

The project combines a ground-mounted photovoltaic plant of 100 MW with a co-located battery energy storage system of 100 MW / 400 MWh (four-hour) on a single consolidated site of about 110 hectares in southern Hunedoara County, western Romania, with direct access from a European road.

The grid connection approval (ATR) was issued by the transmission system operator Transelectrica in June 2026 for 94.9 MW of export capacity and 105.1 MW of import capacity, on the basis of an approved solution study. The connection is made at 220 kV through a new dedicated substation built on the project land — double busbar, two line bays, a coupling bay and a 120 MVA 220/33 kV transformer — linked into an existing 220 kV overhead line by approximately 3.5 km of new line. The approval allocates no site-specific reinforcement cost, and the approved capacity becomes fully available in the final stage from 31 December 2028, in line with the operator's transmission development programme.

The land is extra-urban pasture used in dual mode (grazing and solar generation) under Law 254/2022 and Law 166/2023, so no zonal urban plan is required. Site control runs for 49 years under a lease and superficies right, and the plot also carries the platform for the project's own substation. Urban-planning certificates are issued and valid into 2027; pedological and topographical studies are complete.

Remaining steps are the environmental approval, the building permit, the connection contract and the ANRE set-up licence, with ready-to-build targeted for Q4 2026. The project is held in a dedicated Romanian project company and is offered as a share deal. Full documentation — grid approvals, studies, land titles and permits — is available in the data room under NDA.
